VARS — The Ontario government is welcoming an investment of $4,000,000 by Raymond EMC Enclosures Ltd., a designer and manufacturer of electromagnetic shielding and interference protection chambers, to enhance their production capabilities and create 15 new, good-paying jobs in Glengarry-Prescott-Russell.

The investment was announced today by Stéphane Sarrazin, Member of Provincial Parliament for in Glengarry-Prescott-Russell.

“By supporting strategic investments from regional businesses, our government is protecting Ontario’s workers and creating the conditions for a strong, stable, and resilient economy that can weather any storm,” said MPP Sarrazin. “Raymond EMC Enclosure Ltd’s investment will support growth and innovation across the local manufacturing sector and create more good-paying jobs for workers and families in Glengarry-Prescott-Russell.”

With this investment, Raymond EMC will consolidate operations to a new 35,000 sq. ft. facility in Vars, that will include upgraded production equipment and pursue ISO/IEC 17025 certification to strengthen testing validation and product quality. This will help the company meet growing customer demand, improve efficiency, and support new opportunities in the defence sector.

““Since 2012, Raymond EMC has scaled from a small, eight‑person operation into a sixty‑person manufacturing business, with sustained growth year over year. Programs like the Eastern Ontario Development Fund help companies like ours scale responsibly — adding skilled jobs, expanding capacity, and ensuring that growth stays rooted in Eastern Ontario. We’re proud to build that growth here and grateful for the province’s support in enabling it.” said Bruce Alexander.

In support of this investment, the government is providing Raymond EMC Enclosures Ltd with $500,000 in funding through the Regional Development Program’s Eastern Ontario Development Fund (EODF).

“Employing more than 800,000 workers across the province, Ontario’s manufacturing sector is the economic engine of our nation,” said Vic Fedeli, Minister of Economic Development, Job Creation and Trade. “Our government is proud to support local companies like Raymond EMC Enclosures Ltd. as they expand their operations, and we thank them for their contributions to Ontario’s dynamic and growing manufacturing ecosystem.”

Ontario is investing over $230 million through its Regional Development Program to help manufacturers across the province grow while supporting distinct regional priorities. To date, Ontario has supported more than 180 projects through the program, leveraging more than $2.6 billion in new investments and helping to create over 5,500 jobs.
